Mark Beatty First to File for US Senate
On Friday, June 30, Mark Beatty filed for the US Senate seat. If elected, Mark Beatty will promote education, security and efficiency for all as follows:
Mark Beatty will bring his life experiences as a private citizen to the US Senate to address our biggest challenges:
Fiscal Policies: Mark will work diligently to build a stable economy, lower taxes, reduce government spending, increase government efficiency and eliminate the national deficit. Mark’s practice in business law, his experience in local and international entrepreneurship, his educational achievements, and foreign language skills, make him uniquely qualified for leadership in this area.
Security: Mark is a combat veteran, both overseas (Iraq, 1990-91), and in homeland security (Hawaii, 2001-02). He understands we need a strong defense system that should also be used against the international war on illegal drugs.
Education: Mark will work to overhaul and stimulate America’s education system so it will once again produce world-class excellence instead of mediocrity and failure. Mark’s background includes: five graduate degrees; experience as a college dean; and educating his children Esther, Deborah and Daniel.
The Akaka Bill/Hawaiian Rights: The Akaka Bill had many glaring flaws such as the significant lack of support from the people of Hawaii. Mark believes that any legislation to address the injustices toward Native Hawaiians must remedy the root problems and must include the participation of all of Hawaii’s citizens.
The Disadvantaged: Mark’s work in pro bono advocacy, with the support of his wife Darlene, a social worker in Hawaii for 16 years, provides insight into finding real solutions to alleviate the problems facing the disadvantaged.
